Movie Spoiler

Click at your own risk....but it's really fun to guess what movies they are. I knew all but 3 (2 but I didn't remember the one right away). And if you're a movie watcher at all, you have seen most of them already.

Hint: One is a book and one is a tv show

(Oh and I like the design too! It's fun!)

Group Therapy

You are not annoying. You are a special tile. You are valuable.

Simple.

These pics are to showcase the house and I love that the photographer added the bunnies for interest! It catches your eye but does not take away from the simplicity of the space.

(via design milk)

Mooooooovies!

We went about 8 months without going to see a single movie in a theater, and now I've gone to about six in the last month (or so). Craziness.

Sex in the City - Great time out with the girls, cute movie!

Iron Man - Awesomeness.

Hancock - Crap. (Sorry Shels...it was stupie..hee hee))

Hellboy II - Colby, swiss, cheddar...whatever you want to call it...it was cheeesy!

The Dark Crystal - Old Jim Henson/Frank Oz movie, saw a midnight showing at the Oaks theater

and fiannnnnnlllly The Dark Knight....totes awesomeness. I do agree with Bryan's review on the voice though, it does get to you.

Sorry, I'm not much of a movie reviewer...

Are these wedding appropriate?

Found these in my wedding searches. Formal yet casual. Haha...great for a party, only 5.95 for 20 "Dress for Dinner" napkins.

Bottle Openers

Seriously cute bottle openers. Over here (with some other seriously cute stuff) for $34.

Grawlix...

What does it mean?

(Hint: It was coined by Mort Walker, the cartoonist of Beetle Baily, in 1964, and your mum would wash out your mouth with soap if she hear you say it)

Vay-cay!

I took a vacation day Wednesday and Mike, Josh, Missy and I went to Cedar Point. The boys have off every Wednesday so it was a perfect day to hit up the park. All four of us love roller coaster and we had amazing weather so the day was fabulous! (Not a very flattering pic of me...but ehh...deal with it)

NEW ROLLER COASTER REVIEW: Cedar Point's "Maverick"
Remember that crazy suspense building feeling when going up the  first hill of the roller coaster with it's slow clink...clink...clink...? Yeah...they "fixed" that....you just zip right on up reallll smooth-like. It's kind of cool, but ruins some of the fun. There is a 95 degree drop (beyond vertical) that is crazy and it's got some awesome twists, turns and upside-down-ness. The waiting line is probably the worst part. You are in a semi-enclosed space with many strangers and zero fans. Not pleasant. Take ice water. Overall it was pretty awesome and worth the wait. (But the Raptor is still my favorite!)

I was amazed to realize that there are a lot of people out there that have never been to Cedar Point...I just thought it was something that everyone (within driving distance of Ohio) did. I've been there there probably about 7 times and still love it!

Mark Hamill, what are you doing in my cd player?

Mike and I listen to a lot of audio books on our many, many, many drives from Pittsburgh to Erie and back. (They have a large collection of them at the library and I can walk there on my lunch so they are easily accessible.) We just finished The Spiderwick Chronicles (they just made a movie out of it) which was just okay. But it was read by none other than Luke Skywalker! I kept expecting him to say "Aunt Beru?...Uncle Owen?.... " any minute. Hee hee...it made it quite enjoyable!

A weekend in Pittsburgh...

Yes, it's a miracle, we stayed in Pittsburgh this weekend. Friday night we went to Happy Hour over at Palomino (Downtown Pittsburgh, goooood happy hour...except on beers) and to the gallery crawl. Randie had 2 pieces in a show and we checked out a few other places and caught the fireworks after the Pirates game.

Saturday afternoon we made butter...yes...made it...we put raw milk in a jar and shook it...and no joke it became butter! (it took a lot of shaking)

We went to the gallery opening at Moxie Dada
And had an absolutly amazing dinner at Monterey Pub, I had a smoked salmon boxty...which had these potato pancakes..and was totes amazing. Highly recommended!

Overall a great weekend!

UPDATE: Oh I forgot to mention we went to the South Side Works Exposed on Sunday. I guess it was their first one, they had a few bands play and a number of artists, it was just okay, nothing amazing.

Weekly Spanish: 23 Weeks Left

I'm not going to learn enough Spanish to understand what people are saying all the time, so this little phrase will most likely be needed.

It's that kind of Thursday...

So tonight we'll be making our drive to Erie for Mike's show and then driving back to Pittsburgh at 2 a.m....so if i'm sleepy tomorrow you'll know why. But if you're in Erie come out for quarter drafts down at Sherlocks and see iNSPiRAL & Red Light Romance.

Here's a new phrase I keep saying:

"Sad Panda": Pretty much anything sad

Example:
Mike: That little kid just dropped their ice cream
Me: Aww sad panda

Does it make a lot of sense? No.

(I don't know where I picked it up, apparently it was on a South Park...but that's not what I know it from.)

Movies....

Did I mention that I went to a David-Bowie-a-thon last week?

Because I did, and it was pretty awesome. Well Labyrinth was awesome, as always, The Man Who Fell to Earth was just confusing, and The Glass Spider (video of his tour) was pretty crazy. It was at Your Inner Vagabond, we went with a few co-workers and some brought our significant others, and our own wine. A good relaxing night out. (Next week we'll be going again for French animation night! Really excited!!!) And this wine was quite good even though I just bought it because I like the label.

Randie, Mike & I watched Wristcutters: A Love Story the other night and I highly recomend it (it was recomended to us by one of our boss-type peeps)
"A film set in a strange afterlife way station that has been reserved for people who have committed suicide."
A little dark humor so you have to have a good sense about you. But really cute! Just keep an open mind.

Our 4th of July

Friday Mikey and I slept in, went to lunch and saw Iron Man (awesomenessss!). And don't tell, for the first time ever, we snuck into another movie (gasp, we're such bad*sses) It's always been on my list of things to do before I die so we thought "what better time than now"...we saw Handcock...but ummm....really glad I didn't pay for it b/c it was stupie. We went to Dave & Busters for dessert and some games (watched a bit of the fireworks on tv at the bar) and went home.

It was a fabulous day of just the two of us hanging out, not planning anything and just wandering around and doing whatever seemed interesting. I loved it!

Hope you had a great 4th!

By the way...

I forgot to tell you about my slightly crazy busy weekend.

Friday Mike picked me up from work (we picked up his mum's luggage from their cousin's house) and drove to Erie (2 hrs) for iNSPiRAL to play a show at the Beer Mug and then drove back to Pittsburgh and got home about 4:30. a.m. (pic taken by Mason Sister's Photography...hee hee)

Saturday I got to sleep in a little bit, Mike's brother came to Pittsburgh with us and stayed over, I cleaned and then my parents got into town and I went to their hotel with them. My sissy (hi sissy, loves you!) locked her keys in the car so she ran a little late. We went to Penn Brewery for dinner (awesome)

and then stopped at work (I forgot the tickets there) and went to see Peter Pan at the Benedum (Cathy Rigby -an olympic gymnast- was Peter Pan and did an awesome job!)

We went back to my parent's hotel room, the power went out for a few hours, Sissy's car battery died and I went home to wait for the band to get back from their show at the Sphinx. They got home about 3, we were up till about 4:30 again. (Mase Pic again)

Sunday I picked up my family and we met the rest of the gang at a's for breakast, buuuut they we'rent serving their famous pancakes so we went to The Rusty Nail for breakfast. My parent's sissy and I went to the Aviary and then we all parted ways.

Hung out with the band boys, Mase, and Mike's brother for awhile, then they went back to Erie. Then had dinner with Randie & John, watched a movie, made real whipped cream for the FIRST TIME EVER (thanks Randie!) and finalllllly went to bed.

Phew.....I'm still tired....

Three River's Arts Festival

Randie, Ted & I wandered down to the arts festival last week and I loved these bird clocks! Perfectly morbid and cute all in one.

Here's part of his booth at the festival.

He does a bunch of crazy robot things too!
