Font Friday: League Gothic
I love a good font. This League Gothic is a great san-serif font. Here's a bit-o'history for you.
League Gothic is a revival of an old classic, and one of our favorite typefaces, Alternate Gothic No.1. It was originally designed by Morris Fuller Benton for the American Type Founders Company (ATF) in 1903. The company went bankrupt in 1993. And since the original typeface was created before 1923, the typeface is in the public domain.
You can download for free here! (Which is a nice font site, so even if you don't dig this particular font, it's worth checking out)

What a Year
Hello blogsphere! It has been a crazy year and just flew by! I worked most of it (Randie & Mike threatened a "workaholic" intervention) and wore many hats: Office Manager, Barista, House Manager, Designer, Bartender, Freelancer. I don't regret any of it because of the great friends I made along the way.
Thanks to my friend Kristen forcing me (in a loving way) apply for a "big-girl job" I am now a full time designer again and loving it.

Best Envelopes Ever.
Google map envelopes, not in production or anything, and what happens when the sender is east of the recipient and the postal standars and...
well, let's just enjoy the fun idea of it!
(Btw, I am a google fangirl)

Degree
This is a definite concern I have had, luckily my degree is in Fine Arts. (Which should not be abbreviated to Bach of F. Arts.)

A Teaser Revealed
Wayyyy back, I posted a teaser for the ties the boys wore for the wedding, I think I let enough suspense build (aka: you forgot about it), without further ado...the ties.
We got them in ivory silk with the black screen print. Cyberoptix has so many amazing ties, it was very hard to choose. I definitely recommend them for weddings or just for stylish fun, no sense having boring ties if you have to wear one! Here are some other creative designs.

April Fools Day Fun!
Besides the fact it is GORGEOUS out today, I'm quite happy I am not working (well, just a few meetings/emails/changes) because I am incredibly gullible. Here's some fun from around the web.
Google Maps Australia Slang...(Side note: the ending address is the house I lived in for 6 months when I was in Australia)
Starbucks offers a Plenta™ (128 oz) and Micra™ (2 oz), I just love the pics, looks like they acutally mocked them us and did a photo shoot, what a silly company I work for :) Love it!
Plus over at Think Geek, where it is hard to tell the fake products from the real, they are selling Unicorn Meat, and a few other interesting items.

Hanging Out
Adore this hanger. Nuff said.
Makes the wheels in my head start turning about what other hanger shapes there could be.
Outstretched arms for a hug?
A banana?
A cheshire cat smile?

Nemos
Is it sad this in no way makes me feel even the slightest bit bad about eating sushi? I just love it so much!
Side note: We stand by the fact the best sushi in Pittsburgh is Sushi Tomo on McKnight Road, it is so delish, we recommend the Volcano rolls.

Work, work, work
So I have just recently added on my 4th job.
Job 1: House manager at the New Hazlett theater
Non profit organization
Job 2: Barista at Starbucks
I feed the need to defend my working here, they have great benefits for both of us, matching 401k, stock options and free pound of coffee a week, I have a stockpile :)
Job 3: Freelance Designer
Continuous clients as well as one time projects
Job 4: Office Manager/designer for Red Caimen Media
Startup company, is my newest job, fingers crossed all goes well!
So I'm looking at a minimum of 50 hour work weeks, but I enjoy keeping busy and I don't want to give anything up. Wish me luck!

Oh hello...
Well it has been awhile my bloggie friends. Since my last post:
Got married.
Got laid off.
Got a new job.
Started freelancing.
Got another job.
Got another job.
Cat died.
Got 2 new cats.
Totaled the car.
That sums up my life at the moment. Working 4 jobs, still working on the house, and car shopping. Hope you stay tuned for current and recent projects both design and on our home plus some shenanigans in between.
